This collection of thoughts through music represents areas of growth or current development in my life and locks in on my experience as a father and husband. In one season, I will spend a lot of time with my kids playing games like hide and seek, making music, or helping them learn about life. In another season, I could be out on the road or working from home and need to remind my kids that I love them more than all the stars in the sky that appear while they sleep, and that I will be back to squeeze them and laugh.

Another part of this album represents the self-work needed for me to move on in my life. The' importance of learning to forgive myself and others was key, but also understanding that I am often in need of a hiding place to gather my thoughts and feelings to apply myself to what is in front of me. A slice of life is simply a snapshot of me transitioning through moments of learning and gratitude.

I dedicate this album to our beloved butterfly, and to our soon-to-arrive rainbow.

This was not what I expected! I thought this was a pop group (first time hearing this band) but I had to eat my hat because my assumption was so wrong. If you are a fan if complex piano layers, check this out! Also, the bassist and drummer are insane in here. I choked hearing one of the riffs it was that good! nvan92
